![]() ![]() Save it somewhere you can find it (I usually just save it to my desktop). you mark it as a 'private' torrent (so no public leechers can latch on)Īt the end of creating the torrent file, the client will ask you to save it to your computer. There should be an option to 'create torrent file' on a dropdown menu of your particular client: "Very Easy" Tutorial on how to convert : ģ) Then you hit the upload tab on KG main page and follow the step-by-step instructions:Ĥ) The last step of upload is to upload the torrent file that you create using your BT client (Azureus, utorrent, etc.). It is always preferable to put the VIDEO_TS folder inside a parent folder.Ģ) Then you will use Auto GK to import that VIDEO_TS folder and convert it to divx/xvid. it is done ripping it to your hard drive you want to create a folder, label it as the film ("Home Movies") and drag the VIDEO_TS folder in it. I have that Home Movies DVD, you will definitely want to rip it to xvid/divx.ġ) First you'll need DVD Decryptor to rip it to a VIDEO_TS folder. You have to jump on them early before there are 50 seeders. Right now I'm getting tremendous stats from seeding two new MoM films, Cuckor's THE WOMEN and Borzage's MANNEQUIN. In 6 weeks since I've joined I've been able to download 80 films while upping 2 myself as DVD-R and kept a. Or wait to download an older torrent you have bookmarked until someone else starts leeching it, that way you'll have someone along for the ride and will be uploading and downloading it at the same time. Sure people will bitch because most like divx rips but you'll get one or two leechers and thats good for 3-5 GB of stats, there is actually a lot of people that want full DVD's but are supressed by the crazy divx peoples.a dude just upped DJ Shadow's IN TUNE AND ON TIME DVD (easily found on netflix) and will get around 8-9 gigs of stats when his upload is finished. And if the shoe fits, wear it.I don't have a great ratio because I leech too much, but it's ridiculously easy to keep a ratio if I wanted to, just download a MoM or upload or there's also plenty of stuff on netflix you can up to KG as a full DVD-R upload. Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you. Remember that the more everybody seeds, the more likely you are to find what you want, when you want it. However, it is as good as any and it's better than most. I find a discussion of 100% versus 110% versus 150% versus 200% as altogether niggardly. ![]() I think you've read more into my post then was there. There are, of course, no rules or obligations. I think 1:1 is considered a bare minimum by some people. I see only one person that says 100% is fine. I see that you refer in reply to a couple of posters whose posts do not appear. You deserve credit for asking about giving.īut I don't see where you explained about cost. Calling me stingy and ungrateful is unconstructive and rude. WellHungChung - I'm actively asking whether I should be giving more than I do, it's not about cost as I've explained, and some people have already said anything over 100% is fine anyway. There are no ratio-enforcement policies or cross-swarm benefits in BitTorrent unless you're using a Private Tracker. More than that doesn't matter unless you know there are few seeders or you have some other reason to want to contribute bandwidth to a particular swarm. Share ratio wise, if you want to be a good samaritan, anything around 1 is fine - giving as much as you get. Try Googling the name of your ISP and 'BitTorrent' and see what comes up. Switching ports and enabling SSL can sometimes get around that. Some ISPs throttle your upload anyway if they see you're using BitTorrent - mostly because they don't like it. It shouldn't affect your download speed because internet connections have dedicated bandwidth for each direction - they're full duplex. Performance-wise, BitTorrent has a new protocol called uTP that slows down automatically if the network is congested. You'll have to check with your ISP on that - I've heard some don't allow you to run 'servers' on their connections which often covers BitTorrent. ISP wise, the only problems for uploading would be if you broke your ISP's Terms of Use. ![]()
